Austin Michael Aubert is a Creole artist and photographer whose work exists at the intersection of mythology, memory, and self-construction. Born in Nashville and raised between Vacherie, Louisiana, and Baltimore, Maryland, he brings a cultural duality that shapes both his visual language and his storytelling.
Aubert approaches image-making as a form of world-building, pulling from ancestral echoes, celestial symbolism, and personal narrative to create work that feels both intimate and mythic. Since graduating from Dillard University in New Orleans in 2021 with a degree in film, he has expanded his presence across film and television, including a feature in the four-time Academy Award–winning film Sinners.
Working across photography, mixed media, and film, Aubert moves as both artist and storyteller, building layered worlds that reflect identity, desire, and transformation. His work continues to evolve through immersive experiences, including his artist residency at ACT Studios as part of their AIR (Artist in Residence) program. During this period, he presented his first solo exhibition, ETERNAL, which introduced his OUTLAWED project and a collection of works centered on freedom, rebellion, and self-mythology.
